Your account Step 23 of 30
Manage billing and invoices
Account → Billing shows your plan, changes or cancels it, and keeps every invoice, payment, credit and refund. Who can use it, and what each change does.
Updated
Account → Billing is where you see your current plan, change it, update your card and find your invoices. For what the plans are and how their limits work, see Choose a plan and the pricing page.
Billing needs the Admin or Owner role and access to the whole account. Nobody else has Billing in their menu. A member whose access covers particular clients who opens the page directly sees a note instead: billing is an account-level record, and their invoices come from whoever manages the account. The same goes for the account’s name and invoice details under Settings, and for emails about billing such as a statement being ready.
Where a page offers something your plan doesn’t include, owners and admins who can see the whole account get a See what your plan includes link to Billing. Everyone else — analysts, read-only members, and anyone whose access covers particular clients — is told instead: Your plan doesn’t include this. Ask whoever manages your DMARCLoop account to change the plan.
Your current plan
On Free, the Current plan panel names the plan, its domain and compliant-message limits, and says there’s no card, no expiry and no subscription to cancel. The plans you can move to are listed below it.
On a paid plan, the Current plan panel shows:
| Field | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Plan | The plan you’re on. |
| Price | What you pay, per month or per year. |
| Status | Active, Cancelling at period end, Payment failed — retrying, Unpaid, Paused or Trialling. |
| Currency | Your billing currency, locked for the life of this subscription. |
| Renews | The next renewal date. Reads Access until once you’ve cancelled. |
| Included | The domains and compliant messages your plan includes each month. |
Trial ends and Discount appear only when they apply.
Payment failed — retrying means a renewal payment didn’t go through and Stripe is retrying it. Your access doesn’t change while it does; update your card (below) and the next retry should succeed.
Updating your card, and Stripe’s invoices
Choose Payment methods and invoices. It opens Stripe’s billing portal, where you can change the card and download receipts; when you’re done it brings you back to Billing.
Your card is held by Stripe, never by DMARCLoop, and is entered only on Stripe’s pages.
Invoices, payments and credits
The Invoices, payments and credits link at the top of Billing opens Invoices and payments: every invoice issued to the account, with its Issued date, Period, Amount (including the tax line, where tax applies) and Status. Credit notes and refunds are listed under the invoice they reduce.
Each invoice has View and PDF links to the copy Stripe hosts — that’s the one to send to your accounts team. Documents appear shortly after they’re issued; the date they were last updated from Stripe is at the foot of the page.
Where invoices are sent, and the name and address on them, are set in Account settings.
Subscribing from Free
If you started on Free, subscribe from Billing:
- Under Choose a plan, pick the plan.
- Choose Billed from — your billing country, shown with the currency it bills in.
- Choose the Term: Monthly or Annual.
- Choose Continue to payment, and pay on Stripe’s page.
The currency can’t be changed later. It follows the billing country, and Stripe doesn’t allow a subscription to change currency, so switching would mean cancelling and subscribing again. A price marked incl. GST or incl. VAT already includes it; otherwise any tax that applies is added at checkout, which shows the total before you pay.
When you come back from Stripe, Billing confirms the plan. If Stripe hasn’t confirmed the payment yet, the page says it’s waiting and updates itself within a few seconds. A subscription that was started but never paid shows as waiting for payment, with a Finish payment link; nothing has been charged, and it lapses on its own after about a day.
Changing plan
With a subscription, the plans are listed under Change plan, with your current one marked current. You can also switch the Term between monthly and annual.
- Pick the plan (and term), then choose Change plan.
- DMARCLoop shows what will happen before anything is charged:
- An upgrade shows the prorated amount due now. Choose Confirm and pay to go ahead. The new limits apply immediately.
- A downgrade charges nothing now. You keep your current plan until the end of the period, then move down. Choose Confirm downgrade.
Plans that keep less history
If a plan keeps fewer days of reports than you have now, its card says so. Reports older than the new plan’s history are kept for 90 days after the change takes effect, in case you switch back, and then deleted. While that’s running, Billing shows the date they’ll be kept until.
Cancelling
- Choose Cancel subscription in the Current plan panel.
- Choose the main reason you’re cancelling (required), and add anything else you’d like us to know.
- Choose Cancel at period end.
You keep full access until the end of the period you’ve paid for, and the page tells you the date. After that the account moves to Free rather than closing: your domains stay monitored, and the domain limit only applies when you next add one.
Before you confirm, the form says what happens to your report history. If Free keeps less history than your plan, reports older than that are kept for 90 days in case you resubscribe, then deleted.
Changed your mind before the period ends? Choose Keep my subscription and it renews as normal.
Accounts billed by statement
Managed-service partner accounts aren’t billed through this page. Billing shows a Wholesale billing panel instead: usage is metered and invoiced monthly on contractual terms, with a statement available before each invoice issues. Talk to us about changes.
